My periods stopped suddenly when I started MTX earlier this year. As I'm 54 I just assumed it was menopause, although it did seem a bit coincidental, but quite frankly I was pleased to be rid of them!! But now suddenly it's back with a vengence - the timing could not be more annoying as I start work on Tuesday!!!! It's quite knocked the stuffing out of me and the old fatigue is back - feeling so lethargic - thank goodness it's Sunday. Has anybody got any ideas for a boost?

Confused Hi Sylvia
Strange I think, can't help, but for the past year, I have period every other month!
I get a tummy ache......that's all.
I didn't link it to ra, I thought I'm 40 yrs old and my overies maybe at the end of their use.
Haven't been to doctor about it.....I'm aware that I rely on nhs a lot with ra.

That must of been a shock for you!

Good luck with your job Tuesday xxx

Hi Sylvia,

It's more than likely is something to do with the menopause I am a year younger than you and I had lots of problems when I was 50. The Mirena Coil is a godsend ask your Doctor if you are interested.

Hope you get on ok in your new job, thinking about you.

hi old one,yes sounds menopause to me,if you have a well woman clinic at your surgery have a chat or ask a nurse for the booklet on it,it has loads of info but still doesnt prepare you for how you feel, i was up,down angry, sad and so nasty at times, sadly i was putting it down to nursing my late hubby and all the lack of energy, never thought it was age,so... it happens and yes it is great to be monthly FREE also saves a fortune,my gp told me it takes about 2 years and need to be a full year free plus a second year completly free then its dealing with the after math of sweating etc,i was 2 weeks away from my first years when my hubby took really bad so yes back to the start of a first year thankfully now 2 yrs on and feel good still have a bahammas day but honest so liberating, bit like having the children we dont get the handbook, dorothy.

Thanks Dorothy - good to know that I'm not alone in having bahammas days!! Never heard that expression but it sounds just right! The sun's out today and it feels really warm outside, so hope you're having the same as here - late autumn colour in the sunshine really does look beautiful. Maybe I'll take the dog out for a short stroll!

Best wishes - Sylvia xx
